News of Late

Just a quick run thru of recent and coming events.

Life has gotten really crazy busy lately, but in a good way. The last couple of weekends I've had my sister Suzannah come down to stay with me so that my mom can focus a bit more on her nursing school. That was really fun. It's so much fun when your siblings act more like adults. Although it made me realize how little time I'm going to have when I need to commit to a family (at some distant point in the future).

Work has been good. This week I'm flying out to California where I'll be teaching a course on LabVIEW (a really useful software product we make). I'm really nervous about teaching though because it means that I am responsible for helping other people become better at something. It also means that my company somehow has enough trust in me that they want me to represent them. It should be a lot of fun, but definitely one of those challenges that will be difficult at the same time. The bright side is I get to be is SoCal, stay in a hotel, go on a free vacation, and get a per diem for food!

Fortunately I get a few days off beforehand, so I'm going to spend that time with my sister Regina. I always love hanging out with her, because she is one of those people that can just truly enjoy themselves. I wish more people would let themselves be free like that.

Right after I get back (at 3:35 am) I am going to my best friend's wedding. Really looking forward to it. I can't wait to be there to see her enter this new phase of her life.

Tonight I got to lead my first Bible study ever! It went really well. It was supposed to be a coed group, but none of the other guys showed up. I was amazed at how open everybody was. I'm really hoping that everything goes well, and I think we could really have an amazing group by the time things are thru. Thank you to all of those who were praying for me, definitely calmed my nerves.

There are of course other things going on in my life, but those will have to wait for a later post. Just know that the last few weeks have been some of the most exciting and scary weeks of my life. I can't wait to see what all else happens!

Aside:
I was talking with my sister Sarah tonight on the phone and somehow celebrity look alikes came up. Evidently she thinks I look like a mix between Adam Sandler and Adam Levine (lead singer for Maroon 5).

You decide.

Song of the Night
Coldplay just put out a new album this week. As with all of my favorite bands it takes some getting used to their new stuff, but I'm liking it more and more. There is one song in particular that I just can't get out of my head. It's called Kingdom Come...and I really like it. Enjoy!

Matt Otis, I have just skimmed through your (quite humorous) blog, and I found the stuff about Europe quite helpful. However, I laughed a bit too much and sloshed hot chocolate on myself. Oops.
